Really, that’s the story - the “block” in this case being Block Island.
Founded in Block Island, Rhode Island, Pop on the Block is a woman-owned and operated company. Block Island is one of those hidden gems. Located 13 miles off the Rhode Island coast, Block Island has a decidedly quaint, New England harbor town vibe, great beaches, world class seafood, biking, hiking, fishing that’s second to none, and much more. In fact, seemingly around every corner, there’s a quirky little shop selling all kinds of treasures.
But there was no “pop”. Or more specifically, there was no popcorn. And you can’t have fun without 50+ flavors of Popcorn, can you? So we changed that.
In 2016, the flagship Pop On The Block opened in New Shoreham (Block Island), RI. We feature 50+ flavors from our own recipes, which offer a taste treat unlike any other (you’ll be amazed at how good we can make popcorn taste). We also offer several premium concoctions that mimic popular candy bars and similar. Throw in a little creative razzle dazzle (Popcorn Pizza, anyone?), and you have the makings of a real treat. Like to pop at home, we have kernels and seasoning too! People love coming into the shop, and our exceptional popcorn makes a great gift as well.
